Hi All,
Thank you in advance...
We are planning to use ServiceNow MCP server for code deployment. The code will be written by agents in VS Code and then promoted to ServiceNow through MCP server.
Does ServiceNow provide any OOB MCP sever tool for deploying code/configurations, or do we need to build custom functionality, such as a Scripted REST API, in ServiceNow to support the deployment?

Hello @Neha Sharan1 ,
As far as I know, there is no OOB MCP tool that deploys code or configuration. The OOB part is the MCP Server plugin (sn_mcp_server) and the MCP Server Console in Admin Center. The tools you expose on it are backed by something you point them at, such as a REST API, Flow action, subflow or Now Assist skill.
Also Refer this for Building an MCP Server on ServiceNow. Covers the native MCP Server Console, REST API tools, OpenAPI schemas, OAuth setup (JWT) and connecting Claude end to end.

As per my knowledge, ServiceNow MCP server is not built for deploying code or application configurations
If you are looking for Automation on code deployment, you can explore CI/CD API using Flow designer with all of your required validation.
https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/api-reference/rest-apis/cicd-api.html
Also , if you are looking for scoped application code deployment, then you can integrates directly with Git services like GitHub through ServiceNow Studio.

Hi @Hemanth M @Tanushree Maiti @yashkamde
Thank you for the response, already using servicenow sdk to deploy the changes from VS code, also looking forward to implement using MCP server tool for any exceptions or to do the complete deployment. As per my knowledge, ServiceNow sdk is for scoped app, not for global change.
