In Tokyo, I am configuring the Portable Virtual Agent Web Client. We will add VA web client to our intranet site. User will be able to access exampledev.service-now.com from xxintranet.example.com
I have activated custom URL plugin (com.snc.customurl). I have difficulty to create custom URL.
In SNOW Doc, "Set a custom URL as the instance URL" has a requirement:
You must activate the custom URL plugin and have purchased or registered a URL before adding the custom URL to your instance.
How do I purchase or register a URL in SNOW? Could anyone provide the steps?
Without above step, I got error message below when I create a custom URL.
Error Message: The CNAME record for xxintranet.example.com does not point to exampledev.service-now.com.
Thank you for your help
Mary

@Yanping Guo1 - You need to register your new custom URL in public DNS (if you are using it personally) or connect with your organization's network / windows server team who usually reserve the domain and publish it in your organization authorized ISP DNS.
Once you publish your custom domain then just add CNAME to actual ServiceNow instance URL then you will be able to register the custom URL in ServiceNow.
Please refer the link on How to add CNAME of your DNS - https://in.godaddy.com/help/add-a-cname-record-19236
Note: godaddy is one of the public domain registrar and web hosting platform.
Thanks & Regards,

@Yanping Guo1 - Happy that you created a custom URL. Yes. You need to provide the custom URL to include the VA web client in your intranet sites due to security reasons.
Thanks & Regards,

Hello,
I am using GoDaddy to purchase a custom URL. I also created the CNAME record and still get the error that 'The CNAME record for t******.com does not point to *******.service-now.com' error. Not sure why the error is happening.
Anyone have any ideas?
