Set date field to today's date by default

Hello,

I have a date field on a form that I would like to be set to today's date by default.

I tried to set the default to: javascript:new GlideDate().getDisplayValue(); It doesn't seem to be working, what am I missing?

Hi JJG,

For scoped app you can use:

new GlideDate().getDisplayValue()

If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.

Kind regards,

Hey JJG,

try this code in default value

 javascript:gs.nowDateTime();

Or you can try,

Client script onLoad

var ajax = new GlideAjax('MyDateTimeAjax');
ajax.addParam('sysparm_name', 'nowDateTime');
ajax.getXML(function ()
{
g_form.setValue('put your field name here', ajax.getAnswer());
});

Script include client callable
var MyDateTimeAjax = Class.create();
MyDateTimeAjax.prototype = Object.extendsObject(AbstractAjaxProcessor,
{
nowDateTime: function ()
{
return gs.nowDateTime(); }
});

Mark correct and helpful if applicable.

Regards,

Indrajit.
