set value in slush bucket from client script

HI All,

      I have created a slush bucket field in my table and trying to fill up the value on change of another field, But     I am not able to set   value to it, If it is not possible, then why service now provide slush bucket   type dictionary field ?

As per my knowledge we can do it in catalog form easily then why not in normal form layout ?
