Show only first show only first name of an user in activity stream?

i want to show only first name in activity stream for a table(custom)

 

example :

 

show only taylor instead of full name Taylor Vreeland

Question:

1.Is this feasible on both portal and native?

2.will this cause any global impact for all tables if feasible?
