Showing taxonomy sub-topics widget on the homepage of portal

Hello All, 

On the CSM portal, I have created a taxonomy and this shows on the mega menu of the portal. However I want to show the sub-topics not only in the menu but as a widget on the homepage of the portal in the middle of the page? 

I have added the topic header widget and also the sub-topic widget into the homepage of the portal. But this is not showing the topics. Does anyone know how to get these displayed on the homepage?

Any ideas anyone? Could really do some help with this. Basically need the topic header and sub topic header that is on the taxonomy portal page on the homepage.
