Simple text input widget in portal

Hi All

Is there a basic text input widget in the portal? I am looking to prototype a page with no backend or database interaction.

A field widget with choices would also be useful.

Am I failing to see something really basic here? I mean there are so many sophisticated widgets available out of the box there must a simple way of displaying a text box in a page without all the bells and whistles.

Maybe I should clone the Hello World widget and simplify it.

Any advice from any experts?

Did you ever find an answer to this? I am experiencing something similar. I just want a simple text box that I can add page information and links in under some taxonomy pages I've created for the Employee Center.
