Hello Experts,
I am in huge confusuion about licensing.
So, it is true that SN will charge (or seen a violation) for a license everyone, that wants to see a ticket not created by the very same user? For example, you are creating a request, but you cannot see anything else than the REQ itself? If , for example, I tweak an ACL so everyone can see the tasks and RITMs, this will be license violation?
Is this true? If so, I am starting to dislike a bit SN ( I know its all about money but this is crazy. Its non sense - anyone can create a simple portal that will retrieve the data as needed - and it will use simple REST with Base64 (hence 1 user lic). And I am not speaking of write right, only read the record
Thanks in advance!

When it comes to questions on licensing, you should always ask your sales rep. They would have the final word. In general, Self Service users can only see their tickets where they are the caller, or on the watch list. Looking at the Portal, they also include Opened by. If they need to see all tickets, that would require the itil role, hence a license.

No, it doesn't work like that.
Have a look here for a bit more information:

Thanks for the replies. So, as far as I got it, if some non licensed (no itil lic) users are added in the watchers list, or they are requester/assignee - the ticket in question is visible to them ?
SO, what if I add the users that are requesting to view some ticket, on the fly , to the watchers list?
Guess its a little hack but at least it wont violate the license , right? I assume that i have to tweak a bit the login scripts, correct?
cheers,
Joro
