Hello everyone,
I would like to take CIS-Vulnerability Response Exam next month but I am a little bit confused about its requirements.
Inside the exam specification :
https://servicenow.app.box.com/s/ryyo1ifzonetb104jefjns91yv986sb4
I have found points like:
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist Exam
- ServiceNow Implementation Bootcamp
Moreover, inside the Certification Overview:
I have found information:
"Any individual that is getting CIS certified for the first time MUST complete the training path.(include SAIF)
SAIF training is free. There is a low-stakes test on Saba at no cost for SAIF which is required."
Hence, I have two questions:
- Now we have six Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications include CIS-Vulnerability Response Exam. Therefore, why inside this specification I see that it is required to have the CIS exam? Is it mean that if I want take the Vulnerability Response Exam at first I must pass the CIS-ITSM exam (i know that old CIS certification is converted to this one)? What is more, why there is still ServiceNow Implementation Bootcamp? This training was prepared for people who want pass the old version of CIS exam. I have finished Vulnerability Response training for Jakarta, so is this enough for me to pass it or should I also take look at Bootcamp training content?
- I understand that from now SNow is changing its methodology, that is why it is necessary to get more knowledge about this changes. Can anyone tell me where can I find the SNow Adaptive Implementation Framework training? I was trying to search it on Saba cloud but I failed

**UPDATE
**With input from my management, and reaching out to ServiceNow, they have stated that you can directly go to CIS-VR after the CSA exam. No need to take CIS-ITSM prior to CIS-VR.
According to the CIS-VR Exam pdf, CIS-ITSM is required along with CSA and ITIL cert (recommended), but I can't get an answer from the ServiceNow community or ServiceNow. In the same CIS-VR exam pdf it states that one SHOULD have not MUST. It does not make sense to do two CIS exams in the path.

Thank You so much for this information. I also received information from ServiceNow staff that if I would like to later renew the CIS exam, I do not need to renew CSA exam.

Hi Tomasz,
I can confirm that CIS-ITSM is not required to register CIS-VR. If you go to the Kryterion Webassessor website to register for the exam, you'll see that there is no pre-requisites.
Also, more Security Operation specialized CIS courses and certifications are probably coming in 2018: Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, GRC, Vendor Risk Management.
For the SNow Adaptive Implementation Framework, here is the link you are missing:
