Sometimes My Requests Widget on Portal Shows Short Desc of Catalog Items instead Catalog Item Title

Hi There,

Greetings!!!!

Sometimes, My Requests Widget on Portal Shows Short Desc of Catalog Items instead Catalog Item Title. I want that to always show Catalog Item Title.

I am aware that, it comes through Server script from My Requests widget

In RITM it shows title as catalog item but sometimes on portal Short Description is visible.

Hi @Community Alums,

I think you should be able to configure this via 'My Request Filter'.

1. Navigate to Service Catalog > Catalog Administration > My Request Filter
2. Create a new filter for Universal Request or modify an existing one. The 'Primary field to display' should do the job.

That works, that was the one part of request but the other part we have is, we are using Universal request, so whenever a catalog item request is created the Universal request is attached to it as parent and when it shows on portal, it should always show the Universal request title as the catalog item. for 80% of the items it shows catalog name as the title of universal request but rest it shows the short description as the universal request title.

The below is the incorrect behavior where it does not show the item name as the universal request title

If it's not behaving the same for a few records, I suspect it is because of the data.

Can you confirm the below:

• The record with the 'incorrect' behaviour, what's the value of the UR's short description?
• How are UR and Request related to each other?

Hi James,

1) It shows catalog item short description

2) Whenever a request is created the UR is attached to it as parent record

Note: I believe it's working through business rule because for correct behavior items for fraction of seconds it shows catalog item short desc and changes to catalog item name but unable to debug BR.
