I am currently unable to access my PDI. When attempting to open the instance, the portal displays message indicating that the Developer Instance is undergoing unscheduled maintenance. Additionally, another notification appears stating: "We are having trouble opening your instance due to an internal error. We should have it fixed in a few minutes.

Hi @21A91A6141
As stated many times in this community, there is no support available for PDIs, so you are limited to 2 options:
- Wait till it comes online again
- release your instance and request a fresh installation.
If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
Best regards

Hi @21A91A6141,
see the message in the top of your screen - it states that your PDI is under ongoing maintenance. It can take a couple of days (I experienced 2 days but also 9 days). There's not much to do but wait.
Maintenance
ServiceNow occasionally needs to perform maintenance on the underlying infrastructure associated with PDIs. Maintenance includes updating and patching software, firmware, and replacing hardware. During maintenance, your PDI may not be accessible. The length of time required for maintenance depends on the type of maintenance. If available, the Manage My Instance page indicates the expected completion time for planned maintenance. Your work and data on your PDI is unaffected by planned maintenance.
Source: PDI Guide
There's not much to do but wait but if you know your credentials (the Start building button won't work) then you can try to access your instance from https://yourinstance.service-now.com/login.do to do backup your data after that you can release this and request a new instance and move the backup in it... if you have nothing to lose (no data, no configurations) then you can do that right away
Regarding a status of your PDI, you can read my post [GF#5] PDI in Offline state: Resolving Error 502 Bad Gateway

Hi @21A91A6141,
It looks like your PDI is facing a temporary backend issue. The message about unscheduled maintenance and the internal error usually means the platform is trying to recover or restart the instance.
In most cases, this isn’t something that can be fixed from the user side. I’d suggest waiting a little while and then refreshing the Developer Portal, then the Manage, then the Instances page to try starting it again.
If the issue continues for a long time, you may need to release the instance and request a new PDI. Usually though, it comes back online once the system finishes the recovery process.
If you find my answer useful, please mark it as Helpful and Correct. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌😊

Hi @21A91A6141
I've been using PDI without any issues since this morning, but I've noticed several posts in the community about PDI being offline. Here are some points to consider:
- There is no support available for PDI.
- If you can wait, let's wait a bit longer.
- You can release this instance and start a new one, but you will lose your previous data. To avoid losing update sets in the future, make sure to take regular backups of your PDI.
There have been 3-4 posts in the community today about PDI failures or unavailability. Based on the responses, you might need to wait 1-2 days and hopefully, the PDI will be back online.
