I have a production instance and would like to clone it to one of the available DEMO instance. However, when I tried to clone from Production (being source) I am getting below error:
The clone pre-flight check for valid capacity maping has failed. You are probably trying to clone larger instance to a smaller instance. Please refer to KB0540342 for more details. Here is the link.
I am surprise because we have not used our Prod instance ( I mean it is not yet live), it's just configuration and some deployment. Not sure why it has large data.
Can anyone suggest some solution? Should I try with "Remove Demo Data" request? (will it harm if I do it anyway?)

Hi,
Production instance has bigger DB and more Nodes ETC compared to a non prod instance.
So you really need to limit the amount of data (on the main tables in production) you need to clone down. Usually 30 days worth of data works for selected tables but it may vary customer to customer.
Also I hope by demo instance you don't mean a PDI because that will certainly not work.

Yes, I don't mean PDI (I tried and it didn't worked).
So you are saying that I can limit tables to be cloned from source? Some options are there but that is on the target instance - like data preserver settings, but I am not sure if I can choose what to move when we clone, are there?
