Undo updates in local update set in Dev

Hi Community,

I created an update set in my Dev environment and made that my current update set. After that I made some changes to my Service Catalog. I want to undo all of the changes I have made so far in this particular update set.

In other words, discard the update set entirely thereby reverting any changes this update set made to my Dev environment.

I have not committed this update set to my Test or Prod environment yet, so I am safe there.

How do I go about doing this?

Thanks in advance!

Priyanka

Change the status to "Completed" on the update set record. Then, you will notice a UI action called "Back Out" click on that and it will revert all your changes which you captured on that update set.

Hi Raghu,

Does making this complete push the changes to the next environment?

I want to be careful before making any changes since I am very new to ServiceNow.

No, Once you complete it will not be pushed to another instance. It will pushed to another instance only when you go to that instance and retrive update sets.

Thank you so much. This helps!

I completed the back out, got an error that says 'This version will not be backed out because the system has decided that this it is not safe to do so. This is a system record and there is no previous version to back out to.'

I don't understand what this means.
