Hello all,
There is a Upcoming Type when we navigate to Service portal ->My Requests -> open any HR onboarding case. There is an option for Type, where the options are - Required, Optional, Completed, Upcoming. Could anyone please provide an explanation as to what is the use of this upcoming ?
I am not able to understand it.

Hi there,
The Upcoming type in ServiceNow is used to track tasks that are not yet due, but are coming up soon. This can be helpful for HR onboarding cases, as it allows you to keep track of the tasks that need to be completed before the new hire starts their job.
For example, if you have a task that is due in two weeks, you can mark it as Upcoming. This will allow you to see the task in your My Requests list, and you will be reminded of it before it is due.
These tasks might be related to future events or activities that are planned to occur during the onboarding process.
In our org we use also use it for training session that is scheduled for the new employee at a future date or an orientation session that is planned for a specific time in the future.
Please, don't forget to mark my answer as correct if it solves your issue or mark it as helpful if it is relevant for you!
Regards,
Tushar

Hello Tushar,
Thank you for the reply. I had one doubt, where can i find this option to mark the task as Upcoming?
In our org, we are using this in HR onboarding cases and since the new hires dont have access to backend, so i want to know how can i as HR manager can mark the task as Upcoming so when the new hire selects Upcoming as the type, he/she can see the Upcoming tasks.
PS: we are using OOB only.
