Hello, I was importing an update set from my friends PDI to my PDI and I was getting a error.

Cannot commit Update Set 'TodoProject_Documentation_2025-08-21' because: Update scope id 'c842ea9c8353a210f83ff120feaad340' is different than update set scope id 'global'. Resolve the problem before committing.

There are a total of 179 error's how do I resolve them?

To commit this update set you must address all related problems by fixing and previewing again. You may also just accept or skip the remote update that caused the problem.

Hi @228w1a4248 ,

You are trying to import a scoped application into global scope in your PDI.

You need to import that scoped application from your friend's PDI to yours. So, first import that one update set which contains the scoped application then try installing your current update set that you are trying to install right now.

Thanks & Regards,
Muhammad Iftikhar

@228w1a4248

seems the update set is captured for particular scope but that scope is not present in your PDI.

Things to do

1) if that update set is for custom scoped app and you are trying to move that then ask your friend to publish that app to update set and then share that update set with you

OR

2) if that update set is for some OOTB scope then ensure that scope is present in your PDI and then only import that update set. possibly you might have to install some plugin etc for that

If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.

Ankur
