Using REST API in UI Builder

I want to display part of a response that I get from a REST message and I want to display this information in a sidebar tab in Service Operation Workspace dashboard. Which data resource should I use and what appoach should I take?

In modern Service Operations Workspace (built on the UI Builder framework), the correct approach is to use a Data Resource in UI Builder.
This acts as the “bridge” between your server-side logic and the UI component in the sidebar tab.

  • Create a Scripted Data Resource Calls REST API, returns parsed JSON
  • Add a Sidebar Tab in UI Builder Place on the SOW dashboard
  • Bind the Data Resource to UI Components Show parts of JSON (e.g. summary, status)
  • (Optional) Add context inputs Pass record sys_id or user info dynamically
