Variable columns in dashboard requested item report not visible to some users

Hi,

 

I've created a report on the Requested Item table and added some variables as columns but these are only visible to me (with admin) and not visible to end users with pa_viewer role.

 

I found the following knowledge article (https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=&sysparm_article=KB0826409) and created a new read ACL on the question_answer table but no joy. 

 

I also amended the report_view ACL and this didn't make a difference. When I've run the ACL assessment for reports this didn't show as impacted.

 

Can anyone advise how to solve this?
