View Rule that changes the view based on field type selected

Upon new story creation aka the story table when a certain work type is selected, I need the view to change as well based on that field type selected. I have tried doing this with a view rule and was not successful. Would I need to create an onChange client script or business rule to perform this action please assist if knowledgeable in this area for changing view based off of field type selected.

How much of the view do you want to change? If there are a couple of fields you want to show/hide based on work type, you could use a UI Policy to do this.
