Watch list does not allow adding email address

Dear all,
The watch list on the Incident form allows adding email addresses. However, the same watch list is added to the Requested Items form but it does not allow adding emails. When I type the email and click Enter nothing happens (check screenshot below).
I checked both watch lists and they are referring to the same dictionary watch list record of the Task table.
Your help is highly appreciated.

i am actually trying to get this result. i do not want the email link. must be an attribute on that variable but i cant find one. any ideas?
