The TSS Now application's development team is seeking a way to be able to identify differences in configuration of objects (e.g. table ACLs, catalog variables, flow properties, etc.) between the TEST2 and PROD environments.
E.g. --
- A TSS Now application team member is performing UAT within TEST2
- Testing is completed successfully
- After code is moved to PROD, bug is discovered in PROD
- Team determines bug caused by an ACL that is blocking permission
- Team then determines reason it was not caught in TEST2:
- UAT user had same roles in PROD and TEST2
- However, the ACL that was blocking permission in PROD does match what is in TEST2
- e.g. a condition was added to the ACL in TEST2 somehow... but this condition was the thing that let the UAT user continue successfully with testing
- If the UAT user and dev team were aware of this difference in configuration of the ACL, then the code would have been updated before being pushed to PROD
Does SN provide anything like this? Does this exist anywhere yet?
