What is choice action field in transform maps used for?

Can anyone pls explain the use of choice action field in transform maps and its options(create,ignore,reject) with real time examples.

@Swarup Patra all is correct in your response except that choice action value also dictates how reference fields are handled, not just string fields with records in the choice table.
