Hi @BoHyun Jung ,

"Pre-Pattern Execution" refers to a phase in the discovery and mapping process before the actual application of patterns to identify and map services. During this phase, the system runs a series of checks and activities to prepare for the execution of patterns.

Key points during Pre-Pattern Execution include:

1. **Discovery Probes:**

   - The system uses discovery probes to explore and collect data from devices and systems in your environment.

   - These probes help gather information about the configuration, relationships, and characteristics of various components.

2. **Identification of CIs (Configuration Items):**

   - Configuration Items are identified during the pre-pattern execution phase.

   - These could include servers, databases, applications, and other components that contribute to the services in your environment.

3. **Data Collection:**

   - The system collects data about the discovered CIs, such as IP addresses, relationships, and attributes.

   - This data is crucial for accurate mapping and understanding the dependencies between different components.

4. **Determination of Reconciliation Candidates:**

   - Reconciliation is the process of matching discovered items with existing records in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

   - The system identifies potential matches or reconciliation candidates during this phase.

5. **Initial CI Classification:**

   - Based on the collected data, the system may classify CIs into different categories, such as servers, databases, or network devices.

   - This classification helps in organizing and structuring the information for later mapping.

In summary, Pre-Pattern Execution sets the foundation for Service Mapping by gathering and organizing data about the configuration items in your environment. Once this preparatory phase is complete, the system can proceed with applying patterns to map services accurately.

Thanks,

Danish
