Hi Arielgritti,

Task based means we can only create record producers only for task inherited tables. that means we can not create it for custom tables.

thanks,

Sunny.

Hey Sunny,

Task based record means that the record needs some task to be performed. Something like physical task.

Just like when we create an Incident or Problem someone works on it and provides a solution, same is for Record Producer. We create Record Producers to generate Incident, Problem or Change through a Catalog Item kind of view. It simply means Record Producer is a type of Catalog Item used to created task based records like Incident, Problem or Change.

We can create Incident, Problem or Change using Record Producer by first creating Variables on Record Producer and then Mapping those variables with Fields on the form.

When you create any variable on Record Producer then you will be able to see Map to field checkbox.

By clicking on Map to Field checkbox one droop down field will populated asking you to select the field of the table you want to map with the variable of Record Producer.
