We've found that the Project Template edit-ability is limited. You can adjust the fields within the Project and existing Project Tasks of the template, but can't add new Project Tasks or modify the Dependencies. So, we create a Project and then create a Project Template from that. If we need to modify that template, we trigger a project from it and modify the project, then save a new template. Unfortunately, this is done in production and assigns all of the project tasks.
I'm looking to see what others are doing. Are you copying the template/project into your test environment and then having the PMs make the updates there?
Is there a better way to modify the Project Templates that allows you to add tasks and modify dependencies?
