What's the first step in making an application to sell?

Probably a very basic question but I'm having trouble finding an answer. I've been working in Servicenow professionally for about four years and I think I have a market need for a product. I'd like to create an application on top of Servicenow with the intent of a) seeing if I can and b) selling it.

 

Is the best path forward to use a personal development instance? Or is there another method that people use for development?

Hi, I believe that you would need to have a commercial arrangement with ServiceNow and at least 1 commercial instance to support any apps you develop.
I would start by engaging your local ServiceNow Account team - if you have any contact with them;
Or the become a Partner link on the partner portal could also be a good place to engage\make further enquiries.
