Maybe a dumb question but not finding any solid answers. Could this be just specific to the ITIL process that my team is using. I have created a Story from a Defect but unsure of when i should complete the Defect. Upon creation of Story? or When Story is completed?

Once Story is created from a Defect it should be closed. Its only in case of problem when the underlying incident is not restored the incident ticket should be kept open.

Hi Ryan,
We implemented SAFe in our organization.
Also, we implemented SDLC where we maintain stories, defects, scrum, releases and backlogs etc.
You can close defect after story is implemented in dev instance.
You don't need to wait until story is implemented in production instance.
Regards,
Sachin
