Which fields cannot be hidden on a form?

ahoy @Cashmere26,
all the fields can be hidden on a form UNLESS it is mandatory. If a field is mandatory and requires to be populated then it cannot be hidden, otherwise all other and optional fields can be hidden.
You can also have various views and each view displays different set of fields that serves to display the most relevant details and for example a service desk agent wants to see different fields than their manager etc.
Here is an example of 4 different views of the same table [sys_user], there's always default view and optionally some more might be created

In ServiceNow, fields that are set as mandatory (shown with a red asterisk) cannot be hidden on a form.
Also, certain default form elements —such as the form header, record number, attachment icon etc —remain visible unless explicitly controlled through additional configuration.
To successfully hide a field, you must make the field non-mandatory first. Then Apply UI policy or client script to hide those fields.
