I have noticed in my instance, major incidents don't get auto close. They are suppose to be manually closed by Major incident manager. Just wanted to understand why is it so ? If I write a scheduled job to auto close major incident, will it have any impact ?
Thanks.

I'd say this is just a process thing. Most people probably would not want a Major Incident to auto close, given that it's Major they may want it to have manual validation before closure.

No this should cause no issue, you should be right to create a scheduled job.

Thanks for the fast reply. Just curious do you happen to know why major incidents are excluded OOB auto-close schedule job ?

From a process perspective, we suggest that you do a PIR - Post Incident Review, capture the actions items and then manually Close the Major Incident. Hence "Auto Closure" feature is not applicable to Major Incidents.
But yes, technically you can create a Scheduled Job that would auto close Major Incidents as well.
