Why Override application menu roles doesn't work properly?

Hi everyone! First time asking on the community
I came across a problem with the "Override application menu roles"
Theres an aplication that need some specific role to be seen on the filter navigator
Recently I created a new module that is part of that application menu, however some users that have access to this new module dont have access to the application menu. So I checked the "Override application menu roles" and after that the user will have access to some modules he should not be seeing (See attatchment)

I checked and found one KB about "Override application menu roles" doesn't working properly

KB0716421

Just wanted to know if theres a way to fix this or at least the best practice for a work around
Thank you

Hi,

Lets take an example, here if you keep the override application menu roles, the user will be able to see the module irrespective of any other role.

I impersonated with an user with 'image_admin' role (for example), the module 'assigned to me' is visible

Note : the list this module opens would be controlled by acls.

 Rule -

1. If 'override application menu roles' not checked, then both module and application menu roles are required for the user to see.

2. If 'override application menu roles' checked, then only module role is required.

In your case, you can keep the upper modules with roles specific to application admin and thus it will hide the modules from users, the one that you want to show can be kept with basic roles with 'override application menu roles', so it will be visible to the users.

I get the idea
I want the user to see the pause Scans module
but those other two modules dont have the override application menu roles active so they should not show up right?
