workflows, ad hoc tasks and activity

I have created a workflow with defined tasks (3).

the user is able (and needs to) add ad hoc tasks.

the work notes from the ad hoc tasks are not reflected in the activity of the RITM, which is less than ideal.

how can i fix this - your ideas would be welcome

Creating Adhoc task in RITM process is not recommended. If user has right can go to RITM and  related list - SC Task and there get New button.

sometimes an adhoc tasks is unavoidable for some workflows as we would have an appetite to automate as much as possible, but for some use cases this is not 100% possible.

the challenge here is not how to create the adhoc task, but more in how to have the work notes from that task update the activity in the RITM.
