Hi @mohammadzak ,
We use read-only components in ServiceNow to preserve data integrity, enforce business workflows, and prevent unauthorized or accidental modifications to critical records.
e.g
- RBAC security : Specific metrics or sensitive fields (e.g., salaries or specific approvals) can be restricted so only authorized users can edit them.
- State Management: Fields like Close Code, or Resolution Notes are locked after an incident is resolved to ensure proper closure procedures
- Integration: Data pulled from third-party systems is often made read-only to prevent users from manually overriding it.
