how do I add tasks based on some condition in to catalog item which has OOB workflow -Item Designer Workflow

We have a number of existing catalog items that are running the Item Designer workflow. One of the catalog requires us to add a task based on a condition, can anyone advise and share best practices on how to add the task please.

Hi Vasantharajan N,

Thank you for your suggestions appreciate a lot.

So basically, we have a software catalog that is running a the pre-defined workflow ( OOB) - Item designer workflow. It has 2 tasks defined, this goes to all or any software selected.

Now, the requirement is raised such that if Software A is selected, another task will be generated,

 Option1 -

1. Update the exiting workflow to create the task based on the condition that you want for the specific catalogue item. - we dont want to unnecessarily spawn the task if Software A is not selected.

2. Option 2 - most of our catalog are running on the OOB workflow

Is there any other way?
