Hello,
I'm currently setting up our companies Employee Center portal and looking to customize the mega menu. I've been asked to include a direct mailto link with the label "Email Accounting" in the mega menu. When users click on this, it should open their default email client with the "To" field already populated with our accounting department's email address.
Is this possible to do? If that is not possible, is it possible set up a mailto link as a quick link?
Any guidance or pointers on how to implement this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about adding that type of item to the mega menu, but you can add a mailto as a quick link. We've done that for our HR topic page as well as some others. You first need to set the mailto up as an External Link (under Content Taxonomy) and can then create the Quick Link using the external link you created. Or at least that's how we're doing it. 😉

I did try this too. created an external link with email and then selecting it as a quick link. however.. when i hit save. for external link. the link keeps adding // to the email.
for example.. i would enter mailto:emailaddress
when i hit save.. it would revert to mailto://emailaddress
not sure why it keeps doing that.

I'm not sure why it does that either, but the same happens in our instance. I hadn't actually looked until you mentioned it. I don't use the desktop version of Outlook, but had a coworker click the link in our ECP and it does actually open a new email message to the correct address, so it appears that it's working despite how it looks when you hover over the link.
