App launcher widget - customizing to redirect one app to 2 different URLS based on screen size

Hi All,

 

The app launcher widget has been cloned in our instances to suit certain UI/UX / business requirements. Server Scripts has not been altered much, and the apps are picked from web applications table as seen in OOB.

Currently a new app (App-F ) is about to get added to the app launcher widget - i.e an app i would be adding to the web application table basically, that gets displayed on the widget/portal.

Its just that the requirement is to redirect the new app App-F to 2 different URLs when on mobile and when on desktop..URL field on web application table for an app applies to all devices. - constraints here.

Is there a way this requirement can be achieved.

Hey @Inya 

I am not aware of a method to do this, as the Web Applications record for ESC Apps is a single URL. 

 

Best immediate idea I have would be to in the description suffix - Mobile to the end of the app name. You could also use the Description to advise users that they are clicking a link for the mobile version

 

Or if you house your apps within Topics, putting it into a Topic around Mobile apps(if you have one).
