Are AI Search results available via API?

We are currently using multiple service portals for IT, HR, and other internal self-service content and catalog. We now decided to go with Employee Center, and our main objective is to improve the service discoverability. Unified search plays a vital role in our strategy. Our Firm will continue to rely on a distinct Intranet portal for directory search and global updates, and Employee Center is by no means a replacement but a complementary portal. Our goal is to better integrate ServiceNow with a custom-built Intranet search. Intranet search uses multiple search sources and has its own system for ranking and results presentation.  

1. Does AI Search have the capability to expose results via structured API?
2. Can we directly expose AI Search Sources via API?

Hi Sandeep,

We will explore the solution, but that looks like a workaround. The official answer from the product team is that the API is not supported.

“AI Search is the search for ServiceNow, it is not architected as a standalone search engine that can be plugged into a 3rd party application for searching, therefore we currently do not expose search and results API externally. However, we do expose our Ingest API for indexing external content, so that users can search non-ServiceNow content in ServiceNow’s applications, like Service Portal, VA, etc. via AI Search.”
