Mega Menu issues with Employee Center Pro

The mega menu seemed to be working before updating our plugins to Employee Center Pro and now I cannot get the mega menu to show. I have the taxonomy active and have tried cloning it and associating the cloned taxonomy but it is not working. I only see 'More, Org Chart and Chat' as options and 'More' does not even function. Not sure where to go to check on this further. I can't add menu items through the portal > main menu > related list items like I have read about either.

@Rob S - Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I can share my portal config. First step I did was to copy the employee taxonomy and then I deactivated the Employee Taxonomy

Then I went to Employee Service center and replaced the employee taxonomy with the new one EC Pro Taxanomy

Theme is EC Theme

Then I went to Advanced Portal Navigation and clicked in sync hierarchy and activated the Menu with new Taxanomy and Deactivated old one

What I noticed is the help center on. Advanced Portal Navigation still has old Employee Taxanomy and I cannot bring the new one here.

I am sure that is causing the issue but for some reason I cannot bring the new EC Pro Taxonomy to this menu. I am sure I have skipped some step.

Yes, I have cached multiple times so that should not be the issue.

Appreciate your help here

Hey @Simran321 - So, that might be part of what is missing.
When you switch from the OOTB Mega Menu style and change to the advanced navigation, you have to re-create all the menu items again. Yours sort of look like they are acting as regular menu items.

Here is my Advanced style (mind the colors, this is my PDI and I was playing around 😁😞

Using benefits as an example to navigation deeper:

And here is my configuration:

And sticking with benefits as the example:

Jumping into Health and wellness Topic

From the portal side:

And this here is what pulls in from the taxonomy (under the taxonomies  of Benefits --> Health and wellness taxonomy topic itself:

I wonder if that is what you are missing from your system, to tie it together..?

the problem started after installing Employee Center Pro, it's possible that the update may have affected how the menu interacts with your taxonomy or other configurations.

Here are a few things you might want to try:

  1. Check Plugin Dependencies: Ensure that all necessary plugins and dependencies required by Employee Center Pro are installed and up-to-date. Sometimes, missing dependencies can cause features like the mega menu to malfunction.

  2. Verify Taxonomy Settings: Double-check that the taxonomy is properly linked and configured. Since cloning didn’t resolve the issue, ensure the original taxonomy settings are correct and still valid after the update.

  3. Inspect Roles and Permissions: Sometimes, updates can inadvertently change roles or permissions. Make sure you have the necessary permissions to edit the main menu and related list items.

  4. Clear Cache and Rebuild Indexes: It’s worth clearing the platform cache and rebuilding the indexes. Cached data can occasionally prevent changes from being reflected correctly.

  5. Review the Update Logs: Look at the update logs to see if anything unusual was logged during or after the plugin update. This might provide clues about what’s causing the menu to break.

  6. Test in a Different Environment: If possible, try replicating the issue in a sandbox environment. This can help identify whether it’s a configuration issue or something else more systemic.

If none of these steps work, it may be helpful to contact support or consult the community further, especially if other users have encountered similar issues with the Employee Center Pro update. Apne tv
