The Business Portfolio in Enterprise Architecture Workspace provides the user with a view of the
- Enterprise's Business Capability model,
- how the Business Application portfolio supports the Capabilities
- and the Health and Viability scoring for the Capabilities (plus app scores)
Out of the box we have the traditional People, Process and Technology metrics for Capabilities. There are often calls to add other metrics such as Information (yet another traditional metric for Capability). Following are instructions for adding new Indicators to the Capabilities.
- Create your new Capability Indicator. See this article on Indicators for help on the topic, Measure your Application Inventory with the Indicator and Scoring Framework.
- From EA Workspace Configuration or from the old traditional All menu, open the Scoring Profiles and then open the Business Capability Scoring Profile.
- Add your new Indicator and adjust the weights as desired. Save.
- Run your assessments if the new indicator is assessment based and then run click the Regenerate Scores button on the Scoring Profile.
- From EA Workspace, go to the Business Portfolio and you should see your new Indicator as a column. If not, check the columns config and add the new one.
