AI Control Tower Integration with Enterprise Architecture
Enterprise Architecture Workspace · AI Control Tower
When Enterprise Architects assess a business application — its fitness, risk profile, or investment priority — the evaluation needs to reflect the full picture of what that application depends on. AI systems are now part of that picture.
The new AI Systems tab on every business application record in the EA Workspace surfaces the AI systems tied to that application directly within your rationalization and portfolio assessment workflow. For each AI system, you can see its lifecycle phase, governance status, risk classification, and whether it has cleared AI Steward review — without leaving your workspace.
During a portfolio review, this matters. An application carrying unmanaged AI systems (ones not yet submitted for governance review) carries a different risk profile than one where all associated AI has been assessed and approved. That distinction is now visible at the point where you need it most.
For AI Stewards, the same integration surfaces business context during governance reviews — which applications depend on the AI system under review, who owns them, and what the organizational impact would be if the system changed. Governance decisions are made with the application portfolio in view, not in isolation from it.
What this adds to your EA practice:
- Rationalization decisions with AI risk included — factor AI governance status into application fitness assessments and investment recommendations
- A complete dependency picture — understand what an application truly depends on before recommending its future
- Shared evidence across teams — EA and AI governance teams work from the same associations, supporting consistent, audit-ready documentation

Diagram Change Analysis using Now Assist Skill
Enterprise Modeling & Visualization · Now Assist
If you've ever had to compare two versions of an architecture diagram, you know the drill — open both, scroll back and forth, take notes, try to remember what you spotted three shapes ago. It's one of those tasks that feels simple but quietly eats hours.
With this Now Assist skill, you select any two diagram versions, and the differences appear directly on the canvas.
- Green highlights what's been added — new shapes get a green border with a "+" icon, and new relationship lines turn green.
- Yellow flags what's been edited — updated shapes get a yellow border with a pencil icon in the top right corner, and updated relationship lines turn yellow.
- The right panel doesn't just list changes — Now Assist generates an executive summary in plain language, explaining what the version differences mean architecturally.
Business outcomes:
- Faster version reviews — changes surface visually, no manual interpretation needed
- Stakeholder-ready in seconds — the AI-generated summary does the write-up for you
- Fewer CMDB gaps — a clear view of what drifted between your proposed design and the system of record
