Hi all,
Has anyone dabbled with NY's release of Information Portfolio? We have a need to track data that pertains to customers per business application, and Information Portfolio provides two new tables: Data Domain and Information Objects.
Data Management is not my forte and I'm wondering if anyone has experience around this and can shed some insight as to how you'd structure customer data in Data Domains or Information Objects...
My initial thoughts would be to map it out like this example:
Business Application | Information Object | Data Domain |
ServiceNow - HR | Identity | Employee |
Contact Information | Employee
ServiceNow - CRM | Identity | Customer |
Billing Address | Customer
Credit Card | Customer |
Any feedback or thoughts is greatly appreciated!
Isabel

Hi Isabel,
You are right. Only comment is - you may want to make the Information Object name unique by naming objects like "Employee Identity" "Customer Identity" instead of repeating "Identity" twice.
Moreover on a test/non-prod instance, demo data can be installed which gives more examples on information objects and data domains.
Thanks,
Amar
