I have developed a Purchase Request form (custom app) for federal employees and contractors to use when requesting purchases using a government furnished credit card (p-card purchases). I now realize that the process needs to incorporate e-signatures, has anyone deployed an e-signature solution for their forms?
I typed up a "pseudo code" to capture the desired behaviors to comply with e-signature requirements; it is not complicated and even a novice developer like me can produce the desired results, but we do not want to re-invent the wheel, and we do not want the burdens associated with developing the solution.
Have you deployed a third party solution such as Adobe Sign, DocuSign, AccuSign, etc?
Have you developed your own internal e-signature solution? Are you willing to share your experiences?
Have you deployed forms with policies regarding e-signature requirements?
Can you share any market research, analyses, RFI results?
Kind Regards,
Woody
PS - thank you in advance for your consideration of my questions, this is not a formal request for information (RFI) in fact my questions are directed toward other federal employees, and I hope to share what I learn (or develop).

In New York, there is a new plugin E-Signature (com.snc.esign). Allows for the electronic signing of documents on both desktop and mobile. Signatories can sign with their credentials, as an acknowledgment, or as a typed or drawn e-signature. We have not implemented it, so not sure if it addresses all your requirements

Thanks Andrew, I've been reviewing the plugin a few weeks now, and it appears to be a good intermediary step as I progress toward full E-signature compliance behavior. In the meantime I was able to code the fundamental E-signature behaviors into an existing scoped application scheduled for rapid deployment, to satisfy the customers/users in the short term. I have a lot to learn as a new developer.
Kind Regards,
Woody

Hi Woody,
Our requirement is somewhat similar except that the employee needs to sign with a digital id. With FedRAMP instance it puts lot more restrictions on what you can do.
I don't know if you had a break through in getting users to sign with a digital id rather than using SN's e-signature.
The other option is the user will download the PDF, sign the PDF with digital id and upload the document to the record.
Let me know if anyone has other ways to do it.
Thanks,
KP

KP,
UXstorm PDF has automated this entire process and does the signature validations. The user doesn't need to upload/attach the PDF. It fully support PIV/CAC/Certificate based signatures and will work withing the Goverment environment and security. It will even work in an air-gap network, all within the ServiceNow platform and the Goverment Desktop. The Goverment Desktop is where the signing takes place per security requirements.
If you need to see this in action, please contact me at 301.520.1421 or Reed.Owens@UXstorm.com
