Access hours and route optimization

Hi

I am looking into utilizing access hours and route optimization but finds that when optimizing the route of a field agent on a given day, the access hours i have defined on the agent's tasks is not honored. I am not sure if I am missing something. Perhaps the Access Hours schedule needs certain field values? or something on the task?

I’ve asked my team to look into the code and i’ve also reached out to my SN contacts, i will update you once i know more. As of now, don’t think route optimization look at access hours, dynamic sch / schedule op should already give you the best route if configured to meet that business goal, i would think. If anything changes, then it’s intraday/ sch op on demand

How do you envision configuring Dynamic Scheduling to give the best route when tasks are being auto assigned as they come in? Problem is now that field agents are driving in zig-zag patterns which is why I have looked into Route Optimization.

Thank you for your input by the way. I am looking forward to hear what you find out. But at this point I think it is pretty clear that Route Optimization does not take Access Hours into consideration .

you're right, if access hours limitation are confirmed, we should probably not allow dispatchers to trigger route optimization from the DW/ or agents from mobile app. in my ongoing project, we will implement schedule optimization/intraday, so i am thinking I should turn off route optimization or find a way to not allow it if there are access hours requirements.

@lars7  I’ve confirmed with SN that route optimization does not work with access hours.

I wonder if you have work types that dont hve access hours, could you you multiple work configurations to have different configurations, eg turn on route optimization by work tyr
