What are the options to create a Procurement Order from a Part Requirement when the Parts are just not there anywhere in any stockroom?
Right now, when I click 'Source Part' , it tells me that there is no stock for the Model anywhere within the requested radius. What if the part needs to be procured? Where does the agent/dispatcher go from there?
Documentation tells me that 'Place a part request' can be submitted but that seems to be for Contractors?
What if the agent isn't a contractor? Isn't there a way to procure directly from a Part Requirement record?
The only option I see is Transfer Order

Hello,
- If you have Source-to-Pay Operations (S2P), the FSM integration can support ordering parts/products through the product catalog, including from FSM Mobile, when inventory is not available through the normal FSM stockroom process. Sourcing and Procurement Operations integration with Field Service Management • Brazil Finance and S...
- Within FSM itself, there is no OOTB procurement process for the scenario: “I need to buy something that does not exist in any of our stockrooms.” FSM inventory sourcing is primarily about locating existing inventory and moving it between stockrooms.
- The typical FSM flow is: WOT → Part Requirement → Source Part → Part Request / Transfer Order, depending on the sourcing scenario.
- A Part Request in FSM can sound like procurement, but it is generally a request to obtain existing inventory from another stockroom or field agent, not a purchase from a supplier.
- Likewise, the term “Source” in FSM can be misleading from a procurement perspective. In FSM, “source” usually means find where the required part already exists and arrange its movement to the required destination, rather than strategic sourcing or purchasing from a vendor.
- If the required item is not available in FSM inventory, that is where a procurement capability such as S2P / ITAM HAM would typically take over to create the purchasing process.
