Creating a project from a demand - why do cost plans disappear from Demand?

Hello,
We noticed that when a Project is created from a Demand, the Cost Plans from the demand are transferred to the Project and no longer show on the Demand. I THINK this is out of the box; but I wanted to confirm... is there a reason why the cost plans no longer show?
I also noticed that from the Demand, we have an "Update Costs" link and if that is clicked, the Cost Plans reappear on the Demand. So at that point they are on the Demand and the Project.
Any insight if this is all expected behavior would be helpful!
