Hi Zod,

I think I can provide more information. I spoke to SN about cloning back at my previous job when trying to learn more about the process.

So from the word I got, the instances are backed up daily at 3:30PM ET (you'd have to find out your own timezone or ask HI if it's region based?). And those backups are only kept for 'x' period of time (if you needed to rollback). I believe it was like 6 days or something.

You can request from HI to get on-demand backup made in conjunction with the clone request, but the reason it's not recommended for larger instances, etc. is that it has to process the backup upon clone process beginning....which could take 'x' hours and THEN the actual clone happens which takes another 'x' hours. So some places it could take 14 hours overall.

You have to call HI and get that on-demand enabled and specify the instance(s).

So for your example, if you scheduled it for MM/DD/YYYY (07/16/2018) for 10PM. It would process then...but pull from the last backup that it stored from. Which would be 3:30ET. So missing 6 and a half hours. It does NOT automatically pull from 10PM and clone that over to the other instance(s).
