I've noticed that there's one reoccurring topic related to BCM that pops up on a regular basis, and that is how Document Templated works in regards to the BCM Module. This is briefly mentioned in the updated Business Continuity Management for Implementers course on NowLearning, but that might not be enough due to the fact that Document Templates are more related to Employee Service Management/ HR Service Delivery, and in fact - mentioned in the HR Service Delivery docs.
In the BCM application, we have the ability to export BIA, Plan, and Crisis Mgmt. content to a PDF - something that until recently was limited to Plans. When it comes to the PDFs that can be generated from the BCM Workplace (BIA, BCP & CMP), the functionality we are looking for to be able to tweak these aren't located within BCM as mentioned above.
To be able to customize PDF templates to specific needs, we need to navigate to the Document Templates > All Document Templates module on the Platform UI by using the Filter Navigator located on the left pane. Depending on your needs, you are either able to create a new document template or use an existing PDF template available in the list.
In the Body section we are able to adjust logos, titles, and add any additional plan field information to the plan. But if we would like to do any advanced customizations, we need to navigate to Document Templates > Document Template Scripts to either create a new script or edit an existing Document Template Script. The script can here be modified as needed to query data from a plan and format the data into HTML format.
But, before you get started - note that modifying these templates does require some experience with both JavaScript and HTML.
