So, you are starting to look into how the ServiceNow GRC applications work and you are trying to figure out where to start. Been there, done that... Hopefully this will help some of you get a little further in your efforts. I know I fell in love with this table when I discovered it.
There is a table [sys_store_app] that houses the ServiceNow scoped applications. It's not in the navigator - so enter sys_store_app.list in the application navigator to see the list.
I'm not 100% positive on this - but I think you have to have the scoped app's plugin activated in order for the app to appear in the list. Assuming you have the GRC plugins all activated. Then you will find:
- GRC Profiles
- GRC: Compliance Assessment
- GRC: Performance Analytics Integrations
- GRC: Vendor Risk Management
- GRC: Workbench
- Audit
- Audit Management with the Performance Analytics content pack
- Risk
- Risk Management with the Performance Analytics content pack
- Policy and Compliance
- Policy and Compliance with Performance Analytics content pack
- UCF Compliance
I think that is all of the scoped apps. But the real magic happens when you open one of these and scroll down to the Related lists section. Here you will find a tab called Installed Files. This provides a list of ALL files installed with this scoped application!!! And they are broken down by "class". Where class is a very long list, but that list includes things like:
- Tables
- Script Includes
- Business Rules
- Forms
- Role
- ACL
- Notifications
- and many, many more
Use the filter on this list to search out what you want to see. Search by class. The list of class elements is very long. Here is a list of the roles that are installed with the Policy and Compliance scoped application:
One note when using this table. When you use the filter the first time on this Related List, if you enter the field as class, there may only be 4-5 values available, not the long list I described above. If this happens, reload the form and try again. Then you will get the long list. The beginning of the long list looks like this:
Hope this helps you get started and continue on with your GRC implementation journey!
