ISSUE: When in BCM workspace , Japanese PDF is generated for BIAs (Business Impact Analysis), BCPs (Business Continuity Plans), DRPs (Disaster Recovery Plans), and IMPs (Incident Management Plans) for the Business Continuity Management product ,sometimes generated PDF having issue like grammar issues, punctuation, font and character sizing issues.
Probable Root Cause: ServiceNow PDF generator does not consider the Japanese language line-breaking rules.
Solution: There are two way-
- Permanent fix - Problem(PRB1745363) is in place (Hi Portal) which would be scheduled to be fixed post Zurich release. No specific ETA is given yet.
- Workaround - Certain characters in the Japanese language should not come at the end of a line, certain characters should not come at the start of a line, and some characters should never be split up across two lines. For example, periods and closing parentheses are not allowed to start a line.
