How do I change the field type?

Dear experts,

I would like to change the field type for the core_company, vendor_manager field from list to reference. But it comes out an error like this. How do I solve this issue?

I tried your approach but when I try to change from String to Reference it does not allow me to do so still. How did u do it?

Hmmmm @ChuanYanF then try any other type, eg integer or date, ... save and then to reference.

Just remember (!!!) - reference has the referencing table and reference qualifier, back up this info, either screenshot or export as xml just in case..

I had the reference which is the out of the box type, then I changed it to list to replicate your issue, then it was not possible to switch back, so I changed it to string UTF-8, saved it, it was ok, then to reference and added back the original ref qualifier and table...
