UCF "duplicate" citations

Hi,

would anyone who has been using UCF be able to explain the rationale behind their duplicate citations ? in the screenshot below, we have a bunch of citations, imported from UCF, with the same name/description; linked to the same authority document. The only unique attribute value is a source ID. Each citation is linked to a single control objective. My expectation is that there is only one citation per authority document with the same name/description; which is then linked to one or many control objectives. More importantly, things get very tricky when one has to create a new control objective internally and then link it back to a UCF citation. In this case, which citation would i link it back to ? all of them ? Reporting on this becomes a nightmare as you can imagine.

@Eric Feron - would you be able to look into it and advise on the reason SNOW creates multiple "content identical" citations ? Is it imposed by the UCF data model ?

You can re-create the "issue" using the info below.

UCF Authority Document: "Hong Kong Monetary Authority: TM-G-1: General Principles for Technology Risk Management"

UCF Citation Reference: '4.3.3'

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Yes, that’s a known issue. This will be fixed in the next release patch under the number PRB1372593. Take a look at open topics related to UCF integration, you will find full explanation what’s going on and the PRB number has been mentioned there. I will keep you updated on this one.

Will keep this post updated: Orlando release available for Personal Development Instances (PDI)

Is there a workaround for this like running some script and fixing it.

I am so confused with the way it is mapped. And there is no graphical interface to view the relationship, which is disappointing

Hi Sanjv,

The only way to get the fix ASAP in your instance is through HI support. Can you please raise a HI ticket and point them to the problem number PRB1372593?

Unfortunately there is no graphical interface yet, I am working on it but you can generate a report where you have the full picture how Authority Documents looks like against the grc_document, grc_content and grc_item. Probably the best shot is to create a database view having the 3 tables together.

Many thanks
Raf

Hi Raf, this is still an issue over 3 years later. Is there any updates on when or if there is going to be a solution for this issue?
