I attempted to create a Smart Assessment on a demo instance but encountered an issue - I am unable to actually view and complete the attestation when I impersonate the individual performing the attestation.
What was done
- I enabled the system property ‘enable_smart_assessments’.
- I create a Control Attestation Smart Assessment.
- For the control I was looking to perform the attestation over, I changed the attestation type to the Smart version and assigned it the new attestation.
- I created a group and assigned it the following roles. The intention is to add any user wanting to complete attestations to this group:
Issue
While I was able to select the ‘Attest; button and move the control from the Draft state, I am unable to actually complete the attestation. Here is the control:
However, when attempting to impersonate Beverley Bunche, I am unable to see the attestation anywhere (checked Employee Center and on the main menu).
Would you be able to assist in identifying the issue here?

Hi @dheerajg,
From your screenshots, I can see you are trying to take an attestation via control. Get used to use workspace to take tasks. I can see the control contains the "Attestation" as attestation method and you've an attestation assigned. So far so good. Btw the "attestation method" field is only available on the workspace view. This is to reforce the idea that fulfillers need to use the workspace (fulfiller portal) and run away from the classic UI.
"Berverly Bunche" on your scenario will receive an attestation. I repeated the same steps and as you can see on my image I was able to generate an attestation. They only need business_user role (as logged in users they can respond to attestations in My Attestations on the Task page of Compliance Workspace, Risk Portal, and Employee Center. Here Control assessment based on GRC attestation template) to take an attestation but sn_compliance.user would be preferred.
Check if you've
- all plugins installed listed here: Control assessment based on GRC attestation template
- check if your user is active and assign the correct roles
- check if the attestation got created. The smart assessment generates sn_smart_asmt_instance records instead of asmt_assessment_instance).
- when you move the control to attest, the system should automatically generate an attestation. You need to refresh the screen and open the workqueue in order to see them.
